A large portion of Tech Data's Web site, including the electronic commerce tools, is available to Tech Data customers only. For access to the secure side of the site, you must first become a Tech Data customer .


As soon as you have your customer number, you can apply for your Electronic Commerce EC ID and Password.

Even if you are already a Tech Data customer, you still need an EC ID and Password for access to our electronic commerce tools. Your customer number is not sufficient. There are no set-up or usage fees to apply for your EC ID and password.

To submit a .pdf agreement, follow these steps:

  1. Be sure you have software capable of displaying documents in the .pdf format.
     
  2. Print the agreement.
     
  3. Have it signed by an authorized employee of your company.
     
  4. Fax it to Tech Data:

Even if you are already a Tech Data vendor, you still need an EC ID and Password for access to the secure side of the Tech Data website.


To get your EC ID and Password, you need only submit an Electronic Commerce Manufacturer Agreement. There are no set-up or usage fees associated with this agreement. There are two versions of the agreement: U.S. and Canadian. Both versions are in the .pdf format .


To submit the agreement, follow these steps:

  1. Be sure you have software capable of displaying documents in the .pdf format.

  2. From the list below, select the appropriate version of the agreement for your region:
          United States
          Canada

  3. Print the agreement.

  4. Have it signed by an authorized employee of your company.

  5. Fax it to Tech Data:

You should receive your EC ID and password by e-mail within 3 to 5 days. If you do not, please notify eCommerce Support in either of the following ways:

If you are unable to log onto our web site, please contact your Main Administrator. If you are the Main Administrator and have lost or forgotten your ID and password, a notification e-mail will be sent to you. You may contact eCommerce Support by any of the following means:

For security reasons eCommerce Support is unable to e-mail or fax password information.

If you enter the incorrect password more than twice, the Tech Data Web site blocks all further attempts for 20 minutes. After this interval, you can try again. As a reminder, passwords must be 7-14 characters in length and contain at least one alpha character and at least one numeric character.


If you cannot wait for the block to clear itself automatically, please call eCommerce Support at 800-222-7926.

Your Main Administrator and all Admin Users in your business organization can create additional account or view-only users within your company. For more detailed information on user administration, please see the EC Admin help section.


Note : If you are the Main Administrator and have just modified the password on your own Main Administrator account, you must log out and log back in with the new Main Administrator password before continuing to work in the system.

If your company has an Electronic Commerce account with Tech Data, a Main Administrator has already been designated and can make most necessary password and access changes for you.


If you do not know who your Main Administrator is, you can find out by contacting eCommerce Support.

If you are the Main Administrator, you can use our EC Admin tool to change your own password as well as the passwords of other employees.
