Enhanced High Availability and Security Features Added to Scalar Tape Libraries Quantum announces high availability (HA) and security enhancements to its enterprise Scalar i6000 and midrange Scalar i500 tape libraries. Quantum plans to add dual robotics and key manager interoperability protocol (KMIP) 1.0 support for encryption to the Scalar i6000 later this year.

Quantum Names Jon Gacek CEO, Succeeding Rick Belluzzo Quantum announces that Jon Gacek has been appointed CEO, succeeding Rick Belluzzo. The leadership transition is the result of a planned management succession begun last year. Gacek has also been appointed to Quantum's Board of Directors. Belluzzo will continue as chairman of Quantum's BOD and also assume the newly created position of executive chairman.

Release of 2.0 Quantum announces general availability of the DXi 2.0 software platform for its SMB and midrange-focused DXi®-Series disk backup and deduplication solutions. Quantum's DXi4500 and DXi6500 models are now shipping with DXi 2.0 software, delivering the highest deduplication speeds available with no change in price.
